Getting to the BVI's / USVI's

Transportation and Entry Requirements

For US Citizens:

US Homeland Security will require that all US Citizens have a valid US Passport to regain entry to the US or USVI’s. Please be sure to check the expiration date of the passports for all guests and allow ample time for renewal if will expire prior to your charter vacation.

BVIs

Entry to the British Virgin Islands:

US Citizens can enter the BVI’s with a valid passport, no visa is required. Non-US Citizens may require a visa to enter the BVI’s and/or the US. Other Caribbean destinations may require a tourist visa be obtained in advance of travel. We will be glad to assist with verifying the travel requirements of all parties of your group.

Getting to the BVI’s and USVI’s

We will be glad to advise you on the best travel considerations for booking flights for your charter vacation. There are many factors to take into consideration to make your transition to the yacht as efficient as possible.

If you intend to board your yacht in St Thomas, it is recommended that you fly into Cyril King Airport (STT) in St Thomas, USVI.

If you intend to board your yacht in the BVI’s, you have an option to fly in Beef Island Airport (EIS) near Tortola, BVI or fly into Cyril King Airport (STT) in St Thomas, USVI and then take the public ferry or private water taxi to Tortola to meet your yacht. American Airlines has started nonstop service from Miami to Tortola with several flights daily, otherwise flights options are available with connections via San Juan Puerto Rico to Tortola.  From the mainland US, there are many direct flight options available from major hub airports into St Thomas (STT).

Water Taxi Service between USVI's and BVI's

A water taxi service between St. Thomas and Tortola offers a fast, convenient, and stress-free way to travel between the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Ferry Service from St Thomas, USVI to Tortola, BVI

There are several ferry companies that provide daily service between St Thomas and Tortola. If you will be boarding your yacht in the BVI’s, but flying into St Thomas, USVI, we will be glad to assist with finding the best ferry options based upon your arrival. Please note that the ferry schedules are subject to change and the last ferry departs St Thomas around 4pm daily for Tortola.

If you will be disembarking from your yacht in Tortola, but flying out of St Thomas, USVI, be sure to allow ample time for the ferry ride, clearing customs/immigration and arrival at the airport at least 2 hours prior to your flight departure. A mid to late afternoon departure flight is recommended in this case.
